Dear community! This year we are writing to you publicly, as I was told to do so. We have received an insight and are prepared to publicly convey our sincere wish to receive the gift that placed here before you. So, and for what we really wish this year, is to receive the only gift available for us, namely: The LIGHT RUNNING YOST TYPEWRITER No.10 from 1902.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to help the maintenance of the historical LIGHT RUNNING YOST TYPEWRITER into a fully renovated typewriter device, and by doing so, to upgrade its appliance with adding additional capabilities to the typewriter itself, that will on the long run benefit the community. The purpose of the LIGHT RUNNING YOST TYPEWRITER REVIVAL is to actually make it available to the wider public by use of the inbuild electronics at the later stage that will allow anyone to communicate through it and to publish their stories, poetry, songs, thoughts and other thoughtful wishes via its platform BLINDWRITE.INDEED.IS
ONLY TWO JOBS EXIST: A COMPUTER & A TYPEWRITER
The community platform that’d require your help here will be build on top of the actual typewriter restoration and the community portal will be published alongside upgrading the typewriter itself. For the final portal that will serve the community in a wider sense we have chosen to build upon the WordPress Open-Source platform. The typewriter community will have a self-regulated rules where the users will be actually able to convey their inner thought with the use of advanced typewriter capabilities in its deeper, phenomenal sense.
The BLINDWRITE.INDEED.IS community will start running as a project alongside the successfull typewriter restoration campaign.
This is the only wish we are wishing for the end of this year and we trust that by a community support we will receive it. It is meant to support the dictation, writing skills, and an attribution on the historical display that will be available to all friends of the written word.
For the actual typewriter, namely THE LIGHT RUNNING YOST TYPEWRITER there isa set price to be purchased for, namely 505 AUD, and we would like to achieve that goal by a fundraiser. The amount proposed by this fundraiser includes the NECESSARY MAINTENANCE, TYPEWRITER BASED EDUCATION, FREE EXEMPLARY USE and A HISTORICAL DEDICATION.
We are looking for a small donations that would allow the community to benefit with a historical value. With that, and if successful, we will be thankful and will return the gift to the community with a message of good will and will be announcing the upcoming writing practice and poetry events, including arts and delve-into-history events.

Life is a mystery before you know it!
The biggest example of Yost’s Spirtualist activities is a book entitled “Posthumous Memoirs of H. P. B. from the Spirit World upon the typewriter independent of contact under the supervision of G. W. N. Yost to bring the things of truth and affirm the continuity of life and activity of the soul immortal” which was composed on a new Yost typewriter during a séance in which noted Spiritualist H. B. was claimed to have materialized.

George W.N. Yost worked with a variety of early typewriting companies including Remington and Caligraph before starting his own company. The Yost Writing Machine Company operated from 1887 until 1924, when it ended production of its last typewriter model, the Yost 12. The September 30, 1895 New York Times obituary for George Yost reveals an interesting aspect of Yost’s later life. “Although a shrewd man of business, Mr. Yost had a tendency in his nature which led him into abstract speculation and made him a devoted Spiritualist.”
A bit on the hi-story:
The Yost typewriter was the invention of George Washington Newton Yost, one of the key pioneers in the emergence of the first manufactured typewriters. He was a major player in the promotion of the Remington 1, or as it is known the Sholes and Glidden, to the Remington & Sons Company in 1873.
His next project was to create the American Typing Machine Co. which produced the Caligraph typewriters along with others. After considerable success he left to create a typewriter in his own name.
“No ribbon, Direct printing, permanent alignment.” This line from a 1890 display ad clearly states the two principles that Yost felt were most important to incorporate into the design of his typing machine — direct printing and accurate alignment. Inking is done by a felt pad positioned in a full circle around the top of the tower where the type-bars rest. The type-bars travel an intricate half-flip upwards to reach the platen and then are channeled, by an inverse pyramid shaped guide hole, to strike the platen in exactly the same spot every time, giving the accurate alignment that Yost demanded.
On the day of A Lincoln's 210 birthday anniversary we decided to extend the date for Fundraiser for restoration of Light Running Yoast Blind Write Typewriter until the 3/3/2019
