Winton Qld
We reached Winton Qld. After it has been decided that Longreach cannot offer us an experience worth living, Winton proved itself to be the outback town we were looking for.
Winton is a town and locality in the Shire of Winton in Central West Queensland, Australia. It is 177 kilometres northwest of Longreach. The main industries of the area are sheep and cattle raising. The town was named in 1876 by postmaster Robert Allen, after his place of birth, Winton, Dorset.
Winton offered us the peak of experiences for the trip, elusive Film Festival, meeting another travelling family who happened to be from Austria, meeting an excellent bush poet Gregory North, a one and a half hour wait for the lunch at the locally renowned Hotel / Pub - hungry as hell 🙂 Winton Qld also offers one of the best pools in the square radius of 200k km. Love the town.
