Tom, he Said, was Home
When we last saw Tom was one of our last dinners. Last suppers, if we may correct it. As for Tom, as he said, was home. A pastor of a very special, deep kind and contemplative sort, a wilful protestant, a tremendously respected Lutheran pastor with willingly vast and empirical devotional experience, which has been deeply rooted in the soft soils of the Papua New Guinea missions. May earth have mercy upon his soul and the fates of others, Lyn, and the family which spread like a river delta. Thank you for your kind words.
Ordained 14 January 1968 (St John’s Unley SA); served Papua New Guinea (1968–1984), Mackay Qld (1984–1991), Bethania Qld (1991–1999), Hope Vale Qld (1999–2009); retired 31 July 2009; died 19 November 2025 (Sunshine Coast, Qld); funeral 1pm, 4 December 2025 (Immanuel Lutheran Church, Buderim Qld); mourned by wife Lynette, children Sala, Debra, Michael and Rachel and families.
