The Squirrels Walk
When Sri Rama was crossing the gap between south India and Sri Lanka, in order to save His beloved Sita from the hands of her evil kidnappers, Sri Rama had to build a bridge to come across, as it was almost impossible to cross the gap those days. When in Thiruvannamalai, a Squirrel approached Lord Rama, and offered him her help. "But what could you do to help me with dear Squirrel. You might be too small", Sri Rama said upon the little Squirrel. The squirrel replied, "I will contribute for my own joy. I am also a part of this huge thing that Sri Rama is doing, and I am so proud of it." Even when we do a little bit, it doesn’t make a big significance; but being part of something big, saying, "I have also done something", gives that inner satisfaction.

Dear Atma Shanti was visiting us those days into the new year in Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, in 2009. One morning we went for a Squirrels walk around the Mount Arunachala. The spirit of Sri Rama was with us and the thoughts of hundreds steps Sri Ramana Maharishi was walking across those stones some time before us. Repeating walks were our special treats. New Year 2010 was in full moon. Arunachala Shiva!
