The Red Golf

The red VW golf was bought in the 90es. It has been worth a lot of praise and comprehension about the quality of German cars that should last forever. At least long enough. Long enough to outlive us. And so the story went that the car bought by my grand-dad has been passed down the line to my dad after my grand-dad sadly passed away. I've never had an opportunity to try and drive it, so when my dad heard that we're coming for a visit, he organised a service on the car, organised roadworthy registration, and made it ready for us to drive around with it. While our visit was planned after a short announcement, the car was still at the service when we arrived. We didn't pick it up straight away, but waited a few days for the opportunity to arise. And when our friends, Ina and Loli visited, and after we went for a walk, we picked up a car to drive back. And the road was icy. And the hills very cold. We drove off into the night. It was also the last time we hugged my dad goodbye. My dad passed away shortly after, in May 2020. The Red Golf has been sold in June 2021, one year after.
