Solong Reach

After Lara's Wetlands, off we went to Longreach. Visiting the cradles of Quantas and the Quantas Aviation Museum. By the time we reached it, we were both tired of the journey, one sleeping in the museum's cinema, another sleepwalking, while the little boy took hold of an aeroplane.

Longreach is a town and a locality in the Longreach Region, Queensland, Australia. In the 2016 census, Longreach had a population of 2,970 people. It is the administrative centre of the Longreach Regional Council, which was established in 2008 as a merger of the former Longreach, Ilfracombe, and Isisford shires.

Longreach is actually a muncipality, a town of decent main road, a spur of coffee shops, several petrol stations and a smell of cattle mixed with the smell of crude oil. We restocked a bit and then "Adieou Longreach, solong reach." And off we went, ahead to Winton.
