Peregian Beach is a small seaside town on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, at the southernmost point of the Noosa region in the local government area of Shire of Noosa. (Between 2008 and 2013 the Peregian Beach & Noosa Region was within Sunshine Coast Region). In the 2011 census, Peregian Beach had a population of 3,531 people. During World War 2, Peregian Beach ,Sunshine Beach and surrounding areas were used for artillery training. Current residents occasionally discover artillery shells and unexploded ordnance on their land. On making such discoveries, residents should call the police who will arrange for inspection and, if required, safe disposal.
